I would tip. Think about it… if you don’t give a good tip do you really want them to be doing your wedding hair if it rubbed them the wrong way?
It’s still their time, their products, etc… why wouldn’t you tip? I’d give a solid 20%.
I havent done my hair trial yet, but I will tip her also.
I plan to tip because I view it as a service. Even though it is a trial, the stylist is still (hopefully) working just as hard as on your actual day. To make it more worth it, I’ve scheduled the trial before a fancy outting so I can at least get something out of my trial look. 🙂
@kat912: I tipped my stylist (also my MUA) $20 for each, same as I would for a hair cut and color.
Yes, you should definitely tip them! My regular stylist did my hair for my wedding and I tipped her as I would for any service. Absolutely tip!
Thanks ladies! I’ll definitely bring some cash along to tip 20% 🙂
@kat912: It’s a service they are performing so I’d say TIP.
I tipped the hair girl mainly because I didn’t want to ask for the change ($5). I didn’t tip the makeup girl because I had exact amount. However, both of my trials sucked. The hair was awful!! The makeup was kind of bad too, the foundation was too dark and she cut my MAC lashes (which ruined them!) that were already fit to my eye shape!
