I don’t tip when I pick up take-out.  I only tip for delivery or eating in at a restaurant.

I tip at places with a specific take out person/area (like Applebees or Outback), but not usually for stuff like pizza or Chinese (I may tip $1).

I tip for takeout. But I also used to be a server, so I feel kind of a solidarity about it. Especially if the person getting my takeout is a server/bartender (as opposed to a hostess) because they are actively taking time away from their tipping tables to check and box my food and ring me up. And MOST especially if it’s curbside pickup where they have to run back and forth from your car to give you food, run your card or get change, run back. It’s time consuming especially if you’re already busy.

I tip at least $1 for takeout. I tip because I appreciate that the person took the time to carefully package my order and make sure that everything is included, especially when there are multiple containers and orders involved. Plus, for the places I order regularly from, I like to think that it makes the difference when asking for more sauce or something 🙂

Eh…. If I have any change from the money I give them, I’ll drop it in the jar.  Other than that, no.

We only ever get carry out pizza (at least at this point)…..so no, we don’t tip. Our standard order is pretty much a pizza in a box, so the only extra thing they are doing is putting it in the box.

I tip for takeout. My Fiance works in a restaurant where cooks get tipped out too, so that has influenced it. I never used to tip for takeout.

Not everyone needs to, I just like to. It’s a hard job and throwing a couple extra bucks a server’s way doesn’t break my budget, and might make their shift a little better. Plus the places I frequent always take care of me and that’s a plus when I’m in a hurry!

    I tip, but just 5-10%

I tip for takeout at the pizza place we frequent the most, just because we go there a lot and they take really good care of us. Other places I don’t unless it was a crazy order or something very specific.

Also…I’ve had tips refused at a local pizza place, so I don’t usually try to tip at pizza places, anymore. Am I the only one this has happened to?
