Bees! I’m wondering what your thoughts are…my hairdresser is doing my hair and all the bridesmaids hair free of charge in exchange for the photography I did for her wedding. This was in our photo agreement and were both happy to help each other save pennies here and there. So, the question is, do I tip her still? Let me know what you all think!
P.S.-If it matters, she did not tip me for my services.

I would still tip her a little bit. I mean, not a huge amount, but I always tip my friend when I go to her salon and get my hair done even though it’s “free.”
Did she serve you dinner or anything at the wedding? If not, then you’re less obligated to…
I don’t think you have an obligation to tip her, but I guess I’m just used to it and have a friend who is a hairdresser I feel bad not tipping her haha. Although I haven’t done much to pay her back besides occasional dinners.

That’s a bit rude she didn’t tip you, but I’d probably either give her a small gift or take her out to dinner as thanks for her services.

I agree with @MrsMcGyr
. I would either give her a small tip or a small gift as a thank you.

So how much exactly is “small”?

I agree with this. I think it might be a bit awkward to tip her money since you were exchanging services, but a gift card for starbucks or an inexpensive bottle of wine, or something like that would be nice.
How much would those services usually cost you?

I would say, ask your girls to tip her a few bucks or something, since your BMs should have cash on hand just in case anyway, and that should be good.

I work as an esthetician and barter with people for services all the time. I can say I would not expect a tip. I would imagine she didn’t tip you because she figured you were swapping your services – and that was the point of doing such – to save cash.
Unless you feel this was an uneven trade, but that probably should have been discussed beforehand.
ETA – I agree with Miss Snowball that your girls could offer a few bucks. I would probably not accept it since we had a prearranged agreement, but that’s just me. 🙂
