I disagree that providing a meal is a tip.  If you want your photographers to not be starving, you will either need to let them leave to go eat (which takes away from your event) or feed them there.  Feeding them isn’t really a tip.  I would probably provide at least $40/pp tip for the photogs.  

Tipping anyone who owns the business isn’t necessary at all, but a job well done and $40 are meaningful.  

You can always send a thank you note later with a check as extra gratitude.  My husband and I actually had to do that for our photogs, the wedding ending got nuts and they left pretty quick!  We wrote them a thank you and sent checks for a tip.

No offense, but ANYONE providing a SERVICE should receive a tip. And meals provided unfortunately do not count. I think 15-20% of the original price given is common. Good Luck!

Your wedding venue may offer much more affordable venue meals at least half off what you will be paying per guest. Also read your vendor contracts to see if tipping is addressed.
