- Wedding: July 2010
I have been busy writing out checks and putting cash into envelopes for all of the vendors who need to be paid this weekend at my wedding — organist, singer, pianist, makeup artist, limo driver, etc. I have no idea what to do about tipping some of these people. For instance, the singer and organist are playing at the church and the pianist is playing during the cocktail hour. They gave us their fee and they are independent contractors so to speak…we didn’t find them through an agency so their fee goes directly to them…no middle man. Thus, I feel like we don’t have to tip because they are getting their full amount — $125, $150, and $250 respectively. We also have to finish paying the makeup artist for her fee, but I contracted with her through an agency so I plan on giving her a 20% tip. My biggest question mark is the limo driver…do I tip him 20%? That’s nearly $100 to driving us around for less than 3 hours (and 1 hour of that is the church ceremony!). What do you plan on doing about tipping your vendors? Any advice is helpful!
