Hi everyone,
I’m having my small (25 people) wedding and reception at an bed and breakfast. We’re renting all the rooms for 2 nights and doing everything at the inn. The inkeeper and staff will help us set up chairs, get organized, they’re doing our wedding dinner for us as well. They only extra charge we have is a $200 facility fee on top of the regular rental rates for the rooms, and the dinner of course. In total we’re looking at $3,100 for the rooms/dinner/fee before taxes (which are 16 percent by the way!!! I’m in Canada.)
What I’m not sure of is the tipping for this. It’s a family-run business, and I think they have about 5 – 7 people working there in total, and they will all be helping out for the two days. I’m thinking I’ll give the innkeeper an envelope of cash and tell him to distribute it as he sees fit. I just don’t know how much. 15 percent is almost $500, which seems like a lot to me. How much do you think would be suitable? Thanks a lot.
