Ometepe is super lovely. The first time I went, I climbed the Concepción volcano, which was nice. About 2/3rds of the way up is a LOVELY view of Nicaragua and Costa Rica. The second time, my fiance and I went together and went to Fina Montana Sagrada (Haris Horses), which is an organic farm near the beach. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g304024-d1832225-Reviews-Haris_horses-Isla_de_Ometepe_Rivas_Department.html // http://www.harishorses.com/

We kayaked & rode horses there.

I’d also highly recommend Granada, because it’s beautiful and colonial.

I’ve never been to the Corn Islands, but we have friends there and it’s apparently lovely.

Let me know if you want specifics on costs, transportation, etc… I’ve spent quiet a bit of time in Nicaragua.

I just came across this post now as Darling Husband and I are planning to spend 2 weeks in January in Nicaragua as wel. I think we will spend the whole time on Little Corn provided we can get a place to stay and a PADI certification course. Unfortunately my Spanish is not very functional anymore but it seems English is spoken on the Corn Islands. Wondeirng if you have booked anything yet?

I liked reading this blogger’s account of her trip a few years back http://cuethebanjo.com/2009/02/04/lci/
