Hello Bee’s! We recently booked pur wedding at a lovely state park in Vermont. One of the logistical challenges I’m trying to work out in my head is how to manage decorations as we have to set up and take down the same day of the wedding, yikes! I’m envisioning myself and my bridesmaids and perhaps mom and mom-in-law setting up early in the day and then getting ready. I’m really concerned with taking things down. I don’t want to have to worry about that or ask people having a good time to stop early and take down decorations. Any tips or thoughts?

@myvtwed: Maybe send an email or ask who would be able to come early or stay after the reception and take down the decorations. have a plan or a picture/diagram of what goes whe (when decorating) and what goes where when un-decorating. Ask and make sure you know who is taking decorations and gifts (assuming they won’t fit in your car)
Then make an itemized list of the items, where they are going, and assign tasks (Jane: unpack vases, add flowers, hang streamers; Jim: fold chairs and out in Tom’s car; Cindy: pack vases and leftover food and put in MIL’s car) etc.
I went to a very DIY wedding organized this way and it was very easy to get things cleaned up. People were very happy to help and also to have a plan. The bride gave us the organized lists at the rehearsal dinner(along with a tiny gift: mine was a chapstick) so there was no chance of us forgetting them at home.
