@MrsElopement:

I just eloped to Paris in November. If you are looking at this post, you probably have no idea where to start, like us. It can be very overwhelming.

I read this post on Wedding Bee because I had no idea where to start regarding eloping, in another country that  had never been to!!!, and I contacted Julianne Berry. She never replied to me.

I started doing my own research and I heard about Fete in France. They were supposed to have a good reputation. We skyped with them and they were very professional but VERY expensive. I think they charge 3000 euros just as their fee on top of every other charge.

I told my husband, then fiance, that I would do my own research and find a way to do this less expensively.

We found another wedding planner online and he was significantly less expensive than fete in france, but he was doing the ceremony a lot less classy. He had a car to use in photos but it had no doors and you stand outside the sunroof. Not exactly our vision haha. Also, I checked the photography on his website and it looked unprofessional to me. I just wasn’t impressed.

I decided to search for professional photographers in France. This was important to us as we are not professional models and photography is key.

I came across David Bacher. I loved his website http://www.davidbacher.com. It was in english and French. This was a plus as I do not speak French. Also, his photos captured what my vision was.

I contacted David and what set him apart was the fact that he replied almost immediately. He answered all of my questions in a timely manner. It was through David that I was able to plan my entire ceremony. David recommended two different make up artists, found me a car (a vintage rolls royce), a chauffeur, an officiant, a wedding location, everything.

We put our faith in his hands. We did not know him. We gave him a deposit through paypal and just hoped that all would be well. I knew he was trustworthy because he consistently answered all of my emails throughout the whole process.

We arrived in France and everything was amazing! The car was beyond our expectations. The chauffeur was incredible. The make up artist was terrific and professional. Her name is Sanni Sorma. And the PHOTOS are amazing.
In fact, we had another wedding ceremony today in the USA and I made an album of our Paris photos. Everyone was ranting and raving about them. They were honestly breath taking.

I highly recommend David! If you are traveling to Paris, you want to elope, and you need a wedding planner who is also a photographer, you NEED to contact him. He is professional, timely, communicative, organized and he is a GREAT photographer. You will not be disappointed. I promise. It is stressful to plan an elopement, in another country, and trust me, if you use him, you will not be stressed out.

If anyone wants to ask me any questions feel free to contact me.

Hi 🙂 I just has a baby so I didn’t see ur email- lol-

i had my hair done by Sanni Sorma and my makeup- she is so good. [email protected] – She is professional- on time and really good- I didn’t know anyone in France and had to hope and pray she would show and she was on time and way exceeded my expectations.

Our celebrant I wouldn’t really recommend – he just basically had us write the ceremony and he read it- it was real impersonal. If u r trying to have a real person ceremony u want someone else- I can’t even remember his name but he was an American guy living in Paris. It wasn’t legal either. Ask your photographer for recommendations on celebrant.

we got the car from

[email protected]– The driver was Pierre- we had to pay him the day of in euros and he was very professional and on time- we used him basically because we wanted a vintage rolls royce and he had one and was recommended to us. The car was amazing!

Hi,

We are eloping next month and wanted to add some vendors we are using.

Photography – Ian Holmes  http://ianholmes.net/ He is very sweet!  Can setup a skype call or phone call before wedding to sort out details.  We let him choose the location for our ceremony and will leave it in his hands on areas to take photos of.

Cake – Synies Bakery  http://www.synies.com/  so far she has been great to work with!

Dinner – Verjus (American Couple living in France) http://verjusparis.com/

Place to stay –  We rented an apartment on airbnb

I am still debating if I want to hire a chauffeur or not.  I will check back on that.

Eloping to Paris should be easy nowadays.

Having a planner by your side can help a lot, especially if you are looking to personalize many aspects of the day. However, more and more a Paris elopement has become a mix of ceremony/vows exchange and photos around the City of Love.

For this you only need to find the right vendors. It takes a lot of time to do research and find the ideal beauty artist, photographer in Paris, videographer, celebrant and more. So to help, we put together a guide and a list of talented Parisian vendors that can add real value to your Paris elopement.

https://www.theparisphotographer.com/paris-elopement/

It took several weeks to put it together and we have worked with most of the vendors for real Paris weddings or elopements. We also added ideas for where to celebrate your wedding and where to stay in Paris to have a fabulous view. Hope this helps.
