My sisters, Aunt, and I are taking my father to Graceland in TN! It’s kind of a bucket list trip for him. He was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma (brain cancer) on October 29th so before treatment starts and while he is still feeling good we are leaving Iowa and getting him to some cool places!
I am excited to do this with my family but kind of dreading the long drive. I get motion sickness and we are having to travel two days each way to make sure we can take lots of breaks for Dad to get out of the car and stretch and stuff.
I have downloaded some audio books, any other good advice for making the time go by fast?

There’s this all natural Dramamine stuff that’s basically a ginger pill and it worked for me! Sitting in the front seat helps too. Try to focus on one spot in the distance and eat healthier foods.

It also helps to talk. I know when you’re motion sick it’s hard to open your mouth because you’re afraid of vomiting, but talking focuses your mind on something else and regulates your breathing.
Also, make sure to hit up a bunch of touristy spots on your breaks. That might get you distracted enough to not feel too sick.
Good luck to your dad and have a great trip
