A couple of things that helped me were making a vendor contact list in case of emergency and also just calling or emailing to check in with everyone so you know they are on top of your wedding day.  I have heard that this is especially important for the musicians, transportation, and officiant since they are often really busy.  

I also had a bridal emergency kit that had been passed down from a friend in the bridal room and it was helpful.  It had some basic toiletries type items, safety pins, hair pins, hairspray etc. 

I am a little neurotic I guess so I also emailed the bridal party to confirm the rehearsal details, sent them the reception timeline, and photo call times based on what my photographer recommended. My number one tip is just to be very organized leading up to the wedding (knowing who will be where and do what) so you can enjoy it on the day.  I ended up being able to just get my hair and makeup done with my mom and sister and sip a little champagne on the morning of the wedding instead of running around like crazy so it was an amazing day.

Pack a “day of” bag and have a bridesmaid carry it around and stash it places for everyone.  It should include:

– a water bottle for everyone with straws (you will get ridiculously thirsty and the straws help keep your lipstick set!)

– a sewing kit with thread that matches dresses

– hairspray

– bobby pins

– comfy shoes for the reception just in case

– extra batteries for cameras

– makeup

– chapstick

– bandaids

– deodorant

– anything else you may need!

Also, hand your phone over to someone else.

White CHALK!!!!!!!!!!! probably one of the BEST things I had!

I got a smidge of make up on my dress and just rubbed it on to cover it up! AND our munchkin got makeup on his white tux (giving someone a hug) and we used it on him too!

Also pack some toothpaste, cotton balls, tampons/pads/liners, mints/gum, tissue!

I think that’s about all I had =)

OH….

I got with all my vendors about a week out from the big day as well via email.

I had a friend covering my DOC so I included her name in their emails so they would know who their “go to” person would be

Then I finalized the dreaded day of timeline and included that in the emails to the party, my DOC, and the Photog.

The DJ and Caterer got the timelines of the reception only b/c I didn’t think the WHOLE day was pertenent to them lol

I also worked on timelines for the rehearsal and got that info to EVERYONE that would need to be there… including the party, our musicians, & my DOC.. our photog asked me about it and showed up as well =)

I was also doing my own hair and makeup so I made up a list of all the things I would need to take to be able to get ready… including extra mirror, power strip, hair dryer/straightener, and a FAN… b/c I didn’t wanna get hot! lol

If I can think of anything else I will add it =)
