I am worried about the exact same thing. I am going to take immodium and pepto so i dont have to go #2….. (sorry if that is Too Much Information, but i get a nervous tummy upset really bad). I was planning to wear spanx under my dress too to help with thigh rubbing and sweatiness, but i might have to skip it. It is honestly my biggest concern because i cant have people in there with me, i am definitely not comforatble with that.

Since your dress is so form fitting could you just go sans spanx?  There should be enough boning and support that you won’t need it.  Give it a try!

With my sisters/friends we just held up the dress on both sides and the back and she would go facing the toilet.  A great girl bonding moment. 🙂

If all else fails there was just a news story last week about bridal diapers.  haha.  Google them for a good laugh cause they are REAL!

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy:   This is what I did too!  Just held my own dress, sat like normal.  It wasn’t a super tight dress though and I wasn’t wearing spanx.

This time around Im still not wearing spanx but my dress is tight so Im not sure what I will do… probably still attempt to hold it up myself.

@baletrina:  o_O  I totally just googled bridal diapers.  I personally find that a bit much if you have a functional bladder.

I am with the other Bees who suggest cutting a hole/slit, you definitely don’t want to be rolling the Spanx up & down all night.

If you can go without the Spanx, I would suggest you do!!  I wore a pair and regretted it the moment I got to the bathroom.  I had my Maid/Matron of Honor come to the bathroom each time with me to hold up my dress and then tighten it up again after I was done.  Joys of peeing as a bride…

I think the others have come up with some good ideas here. I wore a more ball gown style dress, so it was easy enough to bring a couple bridesmaids in to help me lift it, but just in case you’re wearing a lace up dress, one thing to keep in mind, is that once it’s laced, the strings can be knotted so they’re shorter, but if they come undone, watch out for them.  I totally dipped mine in the toilet, and then couldn’t figure out what this wet thing was slapping my leg for the next little while.  So gross.

@sweetpeony:  will immodium work to calm the plumbing so to speak? I always get a case of hot ass when I’m nervous so I’ve been worried about that too!

I’m absolutely dying laughing imagining a beautiful woman going to the bathroom, straddling the toilet facing the wall and peeing through a hole in her undergarments!

OH, if the boys only knew what we go through….lol

I have no idea about the spanx, but I remember reading an article about how the easiest way to go in a big dress is to lift up the front and pee backwards (facing the toilet/wall.) Logistically, I have no idea how that’s gonna work…

This is just the kind of thing that makes me want a short dress. 🙂

I am also DYING of laughter here at work trying to muffle my giggles before I get questioned.

@SapphireSun: The image of a wet string slapping your leg is cracking me up.  That must’ve sucked so bad!

@Sunshine09:  And I almost choked on my water reading your “hot ass” comment.

My dress is mermaid and a corset.  I am also worried about how I will be going to the bathroom in it and I also have stomach problems especially when I’m very anxious and nervous.  I won’t be wearing spanx since it’s not really needed with all that boning and the laces.  Once my dress is hemmed in August, I’ll practice trying to lift it up and sitting down to see if it’ll be possible to just lift it up!

I still can’t stop giggling!

@MrsWTD:  I did that at DB when I popped in to try the floor sample of my dress on (it was at my personal seamstress’s at the time). “I know this is going to sound weird,” I told the consultant after she had me laced up, “but can I pretend to pop a squat?”

It wasn’t a busy day, thank God! I had thought I’d be able to handle my fit and flare on my own http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Side-Draped-Fit-Flare-Gown-with-Applique-Detail-WG3032_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Silhouette-Mermaid-Trumpet but the slip got in the way of things, so it looks like I’ll have to enlist the BMs! We’ve never been THAT close, and I haven’t broke the news yet.

But I should have empathy. One Bridesmaid or Best Man is my to be sister-in-law and she had the Sottero Adorae AND an upset stomach …

I’m hoping I can get stuff hiked up enough that facing the all wall will work and someone just needs to keep the skirt from touching places. The venue has a really nice bathroom (not stalls), so I shouldn’t have to worry about squeezing in (just performance anxiety, I guess)

@Sunshine09:  lol… hot ass! I almost chocked on my coffee laughing at that one. Yes, immodium does work really well for stopping the runs. I have used it before with much sucess. I am doing to drink a cup of coffee to get things moving in the morning then take immodium to stop any futher movement after that…lol

I plan to bring some pepto pills as a back up for after dinner 🙂

Oh man if boys only knew what we had to think about/deal with…lol
