Oh no!  Is there any way that you can cut back on the food and work with them?  Caterers usually have some good ideas on how to save money!

What kind of numbers are you talking here? Is that for a full seated dinner? What about doing hous deurves and a few food stations instead? Does that include alcohol?

I think you need a new venue. Honestly. There’s no way I’d stay with a place that I knew would be way more than I could spend on the entire event. All of the little costs are going to add up, in addition to the venue’s high price tag.

Even if you’ve put down a deposit, wouldn’t you lose less money that if you had to spend over your entire wedding budget on catering? Like – say you put down 2k for the deposite – but you have to spend 10k more (or whatver). If you walk away from that 2k, then go somewhere else where you only need to spend 6k, you’d still come out ahead.

Other than that, I have no suggestions – maybe a PT job?

Going with a venue that you cannot afford will certainly anty up the anxiety!

I’d look into a different venue, despite all the love.  You don’t want to spend the next X months trying to figure out where the $$is coming from right?

You need a new venue… and hate to ask it, but how could you have booked with a venue without asking such an important question?  What was the meeting with them like… did they give you all theinfo first before you booked.  I know when I went to see a venue that had an exclusive caterer they gave us the pp price info.  I wish I had more suggestions but unless they can work with you some more, you might have to walk away (beg them to refund your deposit.)
