I keep going back and forth between making my own centerpieces out of crepe paper and tissue paper and trying to buy wholesale flowers online and making my own centerpieces a few days before the wedding. The tissue paper/crepe paper will be soooo much cheaper, but will require more work on my part. I like the way they look, but sometimes I still feel like I should have real flowers…because that’s what you’re *supposed* to have. I did a test run and included some pics below.
Thoughts? Has anyone else successfully used tissue or crepe paper flowers for their wedding?

Oooh, pics not showing up. But I think that if the tissue/crepe paper goes with your theme, that it would work!
Have you considered using baby’s breath? It can look fabulous en masse, and it’s uber-cheap! Carnations have the same effect and they’re inexpensive, too!

Ok – just got the pictures to work! I’m thinking of supplementing the centerpieces with baby’s breath or some other “filler” like waxflower, and using real leather leaves as an accent.
