I can totally get behind the idea of not using real flowers, but I honestly can’t image tissue paper flowers holding up very well. I picture them being smushed and flattened before even arriving. I definitely can’t picture them lasting for years.

What about stronger paper, wood, or fabric? They might handle the drive and the day better.

secondtimecharm :  I think this is a great idea. i’ve come aross some very beautiful tissue flowers, just be careful of water and them getting smushed. My mother is making tissue flowers for my bridal shower and to decorate the isle. I really love your last inspo pic!!

secondtimecharm :  oh no!!! id be so worried that they’d get wet somehow, but TBH i think they’d be fine to use for the bouquets, are you thinking of using them for the centerpeieces?

I love the idea, however I think to make them look really good or something like the picture you posted you need to be really crafty. Peonies are very pretty but not easy flowers I don’t see someone without artistic skills making these. So I suggest you practice quite a bit.

Also they will definately get smushed.. they will be as sturdy as layers of tissue can be so make sure your girls are careful with them before pictures are done.

ALSO since its tissue and we all know our hands get sweaty when nervous/hot etc make sure you wrap them in satin or some other ribbon that sweaty palms dont ruin them

Otherwise I think they can look amazing

Another idea is silk flowers, they really can turn out quite beautiful. My Future Mother-In-Law did this for my Future Sister-In-Law wedding last summer and they looked amazing.
