My husband has a tungsten ring.  It is very heavy, and a very hard metal.  He wanted a ring with weight to it and likes that he doesn’t have to worry about scratching it.  The cons are that it can never be resized, and in event of emergency it cannot be cut off (only cracked off, as it is a brittle metal), and therefore cannot be repaired and will be done-zo.

From what I know, titanium can be cut off, and may or may not be able to be resized (depending on some variables).  It is definitely lighter, and I have a friend with one and his is fairly scratched.

@brideatbeach: No problem!  I guess we are just not that sentimental, as we just said if that became an issue we’d just buy him a new ring.  I mean, it was only $40!  I do suggest that if you’re looking you check out amazon.com, as it had by far the best prices.  Good luck with your choice!
