OK this is going to be a seriously dumb question with Too Much Information but I gotta ask.
We are TTC right now and I’m 4dpo. Since 1dpo I’ve been ranging from constipated to diarrhea.
Thinking back to my first pregnancy with my first and only child, I spent the first like 6 months constipated. The doctor gave me stool softeners but I never took them, I don’t like taking any medication while pregnant, very conscious of what I put into my body.
But I remember the whole time I was more afraid to use the bathroom. If I had to go, when I sat on the toilet I would just sit and wait. I was in constant fear of “pushing the baby out” while trying to have a bowel movement. Now that we are TTC and there is a possibility of me being pregnant (BD on and day before peak day) I find myself worried about doing damage from straining too hard when trying to use the bathroom.
Oh gosh, can’t believe I’m writing this, again sorry Too Much Information but I’m sure I’m just way overreacting and way too paranoid, so bees… Tell me straight, am I just being overly paranoid? Is there anything to worry about with constipation and pregnancy? Straining during bowel movements (apart from hemmrhoids)?

@anon656987: Take a tablespoon of mineral oil 1x per day…will work! I was told to use this after having my kids…it comes out easily:)

@anon656987: constipation is normal. You aren’t going to push the baby out!

Thank you both!
And thank you @lifegirl: , even if I’m not pregnant I’ll pick some up. Any alternatives to medication make me happy.
I’m never constipated which makes me wonder about being pregnant. However I can’t really go by that because technically I’m always constipated. I guess I have a slow bowel because I only have to use the bathroom once every 4-6 days typically. But the need to go just isn’t there and when I do need to go it’s quick and easy. Last 4 days though I’ve had to go every day and a couple times a day unless I feel like I have to but can’t go. Noot gonna say this is a sign because you never know and I still have over a week before I can test but to be on the safe side I wanted to ask. I’ll use the mineral oil anyways to maybe help me be regular anyways?
Thanks again and again sorry for tmi

@anon656987: when you take the preggo vitamins they have iron in them which will make it harder to go…:)

@anon656987: i’m not sure if you are asking for advice about constipation or for whether you may be pregnant… but usually the egg doesn’t implant until approx 5dpo – so even if this is your lucky month, it’s unlikely that pregnancy would be causing this symptom 🙂 fingers crossed for you though!

There’s nothing to worry about with constipation…you can’t hurt the baby if that’s what you’re asking.
