I have pale skin (really wuite pale) and really dark hair (not quite black but not far off). I have very hardy, visiable, thick body hair. When I shave my arms (arm pits) I get like a dark smeary colour and I hate it. I want to remedy this for the wedding – any advice? I way my bikini line and that irradicated the weird shadow I get with having nearly see-through skin and black hair. Im plannign on shaving my own legs and doing my own bokini waxing (which is the norm for me at the mo) but normally leave the armpits au naturel. I tried waxing them once (and it was horrific coz I did it myself) and I usually get a really bad rash if I shave them too often. I was thinking I could just shave them for the day but by say, 6pm the little blighters will have started their parry and will be making themselves known. I certainly dont want stubble for the wedding night, nor even a dirty looking black shadow…so? Yeah! Ideas, please?

Getting a professional wax a few days before the wedding will take care of this issue. If it’s in your budget, laser hair removal is a miracle. You can usually watch for a WagJag deal for about $100 for one body part, 4-6 treatments (which is enough to get 90% of the hair gone).
I have medium brown hair and fair skin and had the same issue, though not quite as dramatically. When I shaved my underarms there was just a slight shadow. After laser, the shadow is completely gone and the skin is just like the rest of my arm.

I don’t have this problem because while I have very very pale skin, my hair is also pretty light. A couple ideas though…
1. Have you tried professional waxing? It may irritate your armpits, etc less than at home
2. Laser hair removal. Expensive, but lasts longer and may be worth the splurge for the wedding
3. I have heard of girls with dark hair bleaching body hair before, but it runs the risk of also irritating skin because of the harsh chemicals
Hope this helps!

I have similar colouring to you and have been doing laser hair removal. It’s the best colouring for it!

@cdncinnamongirl: +1 on laser hair removal. It is easy, convenient, next to painless, and it’s easy to find good deals. Then, forget the wedding, you won’t have to worry about this EVER again.

I dye my tach and have been thinking about that too…so maybe lazer it all off? Normally I don’t care about the pits- I’m quite a natural girl but my beautiful dress may not benefit from the pits! :p Thanks!

I don’t know what a tach is… if you mean mustache, then laser that bitch. Best decision I ever made. I no longer wonder if people are staring at my upper lip while talking to me.

Yeah I mean moustache! lol
Does the lazer hurt? I have struggled with dark hair all my life and have even had people (who I dont know!) point it out. I hadn’t even thought about the Tashe for the wedding! Was too busy concentrating on the armpits! So I need to be lazered allover?! ;p
