@SapphireSun:  Yes, I was being serious…this is great info!  You must have been really good at that job!

@ticatica: The normal amount of semen per ejaculate is only 1.5 ml – 5 ml (mililiters).  So your 2 square inches seems like it’s probably around that amount.  I think that when it covers the sheets, etc. a lot of that is the woman’s fluids thrown into the mix too.

@ChuckNorris:  Haha.  I mean, it’s not like I’d want to shower in semen or anything like that. ๐Ÿ˜‰  Maybe just try not washing it off a few times and then feel reassured that nothing horrible has happened?

@ChuckNorris:  It is NOT water soluble, which is very obvious if you ever try it in the shower. Gross. My lovely DH has informed me that shampoo is the way to wash it off, not soap. I share your ew factor, which is why I can’t bring myself to test my CM yes. I just say yes or no in my head, can’t bring myself to test if it stretches.

This thread made my morning! SO funny! And I’m also of the camp where semen does not necessarily gross me out (I’m a swallower!), but the sensation of it sliding out of me after BD is what sends me off the edge in disgust….also the part where it spreads to your legs and gets everything messy. I cannot stand that feeling. So I usually lie there recovering and cuddling for a few minutes before sprinting for the bathroom to pee and clean up.

Putting a pillow under your hips doesnt work for everyone because it depends on the shape an angle of your uterus, My uterus is tipped backwards and many women have this as well without knowing about it. In that case the pillow under the hips does no good

I read in What to Expect Before You’re Expecting that when the ejaculate enters you the consistency changes to more of a gel, after approxinately 30 mins, it re-liquifies and that’s why it runs out.  The change in consistency is your body trying to keep it inside you for longer.

@ticatica:  Glad you’re finding support :). We’ve been ttc for a year now, so I’ve pretty much lost all sense of tmi.  Feel free to pm if you ever have questions you’re embarrassed to post or just want to vent/commiserate.
