Could you two compromise and leave a landing strip?

If he likes it, I would go for it. Unless you have a mirrored bedroom, it’s really for him to see, right?

I get horrible razor bumps, I wish there was an easier way to even go parly about it! When it comes down to it, though, it’s your body. Perhaps only doing it for “special occasions?”

My husband also prefers nothing down there and I wax, not shave. I would never be able to shave all of it off! I personally don’t love it as much as he does but it makes him happy and truthfully he’s looking at it more than me. I agree with @Juliepants: that a landing strip is a good compromise. My husband didn’t take that compromise when I offered to him but yours might!

@love108:  I’m the same way, I get AWFUL bumps from it. But I hate having hair, so I shave at least once a week. Fiance says he doesnt care either way, but I’m pretty sure he likes it bare also.

I dont get the whole shaved thing. I’m not raining on anyones parade or accusing or anything, but it’d be like doing a 12 year old. I think it’s creepy. I did try to trim it into a shape once but then i got some really bad ingrown hairs which WASN’T PRETTY.

@allyfally:  I only try to Veet the bikini line, which works better (less irritation) than shaving, but it still grows back right away, so itchy! I cannot even imagine the feeling of it growing back… erm… everywhere else. Don’t you have to wait for it to grow out a lot again before waxing again? Do you go to some type of salon? Don’t mean to threadjack, I’m just curious now how some of you bees maintain this!

@gogogiraffes:  I am terrified of such pain. Plus, I mean, isn’t it hella awkward with some lady in your business? Is it expensive? Like I asked in the PP, don’t you have to let it grow all the way back in before you can wax again?

I believe the hair needs to be eyelash length so that the wax can catch all the hair and do a good job. If you can find a place that specializes only in waxing, you should go there. It will start to hurt less the more you go and keep up on it.

If you want to stick with shaving, get a really good razor (3+blades with lotion built in strips) and a good shaving cream.

I’ve done laser hair removal all along the bikini line and “under carriage” if you will, aka the vulva.  I love it because I used to get the WORST bumps and irriation.  So the front is the same basic shape but smaller, if that makes sense.

My Fiance loves the whole area bare, and the few times I’ve waxed the front (for special occasions) he just goes wild.  I just hate the look of it, I think it looks really ridiculous without some hair at least.

Anywhoo, I would recomend laser if you can afford it. I LOVE not shaving.

@love108:  now, this is in Richmond, but this is where I go. http://www.ilovebombshell.com/ they use stripless wax. they powder you down there, and that helps it not stick to your skin, as does stripless wax. The worst was inside the lips. They also wax your buttcrack. that was the least painful.

Edit; you only need about 1/4 of an inch of hair, about 3 weeks worth of hair. I also get my armpits and legs done.

I’ve gotten laser hair removal for all but a landing strip, and then I shave the rest for special occassions.  It’s a lot easier that way because there is so much less to shave.  I’d look into a Groupon for lasering; you can often find deals for $99 for 3 sessions (you’d need about 6).  When I first started shaving, I wasn’t thrilled with the look because I thought it looked too young, but the more I did it, the more I liked it.  Plus, being completely smooth makes me feel more sensitive (in a good way)!
