@MrsPanda99:  Have you tried using a Ph balence douche a few times a month?

They make some all natural ones. I sit in office all day on my bottum and it can get a little gross down there if it is hot, so I always kep a douche or two at the house to keep it sprakly clean!

I have had continuous issues with BV. But I hear this also works for yeast. Try taking probiotics. They come in pill form and are refrigerated. One is called Fem Dophilus, but there are others too. Try taking those every day and see if your situation improves.

@MrsPanda99:  I’m with you.

  • I wash myself immediately after sex.
  • I only ever use plain Ivory bar soap or Dial soap (even Summer’s Eve made the problem worse).
  • I use unscented baby wipes every time I go potty lol.
  • Wear cotton panties that can breathe.
  • Eat lots of yogurt.

I’ve heard of (but never tried) buying and freezing PLAIN yogurt to treat a YI (like making yogurt suppositories). There is also a wash called YeastGard. I’ve never tried it, so I can’t speak to its efficacy.

A friend of mine had this problem and she swore by yogurt — yogurt EVERY DAY. As PP said, it’s the probiotics that clear ya up!

@MrsPanda99:  ugh! I’ve been tempted to ask this question too, but didn’t have the guts. Lol. But now that its out, yes, I have the same problem. I now buy feminine powder for after the shower. So I when I’m out and about, I don’t get moisture, especially when it’s hot out. They say wear cotton undies and don’t wear tight jeans. I use to shave, which maybe thought the saving cream and soap was irritating me too, so now I wax. When I’m at home, I wear loose sweat shorts with no undies, hehe. I tend to sweat a lot there, eww, sorry, so I try to be cool as much as possible. Lol. Cranberry juice and lots of it!

@s2bmrscook:  These are great recommendations.  I try to eat yogurt at least 3 times per week and always bath immediately after sex.  I also find that I am allergic to the lubricant used for condoms but bathing immediately after sex helps prevent issues.

Also, if your gentleman finished inside of you he could have caught a YI from you and is just giving it back to you as soon as you clear up.  Has he been treated with anything?  Most men do not have symptoms from a YI and it’s a good idea to treat him any time you get treated.

There was a point where I had at least 5 yeast infections back to back.  I stopped counting after a while.  I got the first one, treated it, everything cleared up for a few days and then back again.  My doctor explained to me that it’s a balance – there’s yeast and bacteria in there, and when one gets knocked down too far, the other starts taking over.  She actually put me on Monistat 1 for 3 days in a row just to really push the yeast back enough to let my body settle out.  The other thing she told me was to leave the area alone.  The normal reaction is to seriously scrub and clean down there, but that can cause irritation and make things worse.  Obviously a normal cleaning is good, but douching or even scented soaps can cause problems for some women.

Also, I don’t mean to offend you, but did your doctor actually make sure it was a yeast infection?  As in get a swab, go fishing and look under the microscope?  I only ask because there are other things that can present in a very similar way but are actually very different.

@MrsPanda99:  I get mine at Henry’s, they have helped significantly. A little pricey, but worth it.

@MrsPanda99:   eo not douche! ! Douching pushes bacteria further ip the vagina. Look into boric acid suppositories, acv sitz baths, avoid sugar bread and beer.

I had this problem. I solved it in two weeks (yes two weeks, though I’d had it for six months before that) by doing two things: I went on Atkins induction (what worked there is it allowed absolutely no sugar/carbs to feed the yeast) and took probiotics (sugar free kind) everyday.

I don’t want to knock what works for other people, but I think douches are a bad idea. JMO.
