Mistakes happen. If you are honestly not ready for a child then you shouldn’t use the pull out method. Anything can happen.

We did this early in our relationship before I was on the pill and nothing happened. When it was time for us to start TTC, I was only off the pill a month and we did this, not really planning to get pregnant and boom, I got pregnant that first time!

@ilybride52513:  Knock on wood, it has worked for us. We actually have sex with condoms when I’m ovulating though. I don’t want to risk it that much. But right after my period and right before, I don’t worry about POM as much.

@ilybride52513:  Do you or your SO have any fertility issues? Cause it is rare to use the pull out method for 3 years and not have a pregnancy or pregnancy scare.

@ilybride52513:  As I sit her (happily) 41 weeks pregnant having used the Pull out method, it worked for us for years, but it is not full proof, from what I have been told the penis can emit small amounts of semen before it ejaculates.

And sometimes even Quick Draw McGraw can be taken off guard.

With PERFECT efficiency, I think I have read the pull out method can be 80% effective. However, it’s hard to use things like that perfectly. Oh right – there’s also still pre-seminal fluid that can get a women pregnant that no man really has the ability to control the release of.

We have been using it for two years and so far, no pregnancy. My family does not have fertility issues at all. However, we are completely set were I to get pregnant. I think that if you would be devastated by a pregnancy at this point in your life, it’s obviously not a fool-proof method, but we have lucked out. lol

My boyfriend and I did that in the beginning, and then we just use regular latex Trojan condoms. 🙂 I don’t really want to be buying pills and patches, and its just as effective for us.
