    By crinoline do you mean:

    1. The original horsehair and linen fabric (which was originally referred to with that word)
    2. A hoop skirt (which is what it came to mean in the 19th century)
    3. Netting (which seems to have become one of the modern meanings)

I think that it is fine but you should probably try one on with it and see which you like better. In using a crinoline you will loose a bit of length to so, would the dress be to short with more poof?

@vaitiare:  I wouldn’t necessarily add more layers of net, but a hoop can be really handy for movement.

Just make sure that the dress holds its shape on its own.  I had the same debate as I thought it was fine until it occured to me the extra length was holding the pouffy shape I loved.  Once the skirt is hemmed and not laying on the floor the skirt would lay flatter.  I ended up adding 1 layer of netting and loved it.  It didn’t add too much just helped stiffen the skirt to stay the way I liked it.

    Btw…Your dress is gorgeous!
