So Ive decided to stick to my mutlivitamins. The biotin in it is only 30 mg.. which obviously is not a lot for hair growth, etc. So Ive been thinking to take some biotin suppliments on the side alongside my multivitamins so I can get the best of both worlds. Now, my nearest pharmacy only carries 750 mg — Im thinking to take only one capsule a day because I 1) want my body to not freak out to the random huge dosage.. and 2) I want to see how far the results with one tablet a day would give me. I definelty know not to expect anything miraculous, especially on once a day. But I have a few questions
1) Will I notice extra body hair growth? Or quicker body hair growth?
2) If I stop taking them, would my hair start shedding again?
3) has anyone on here taken just one a day and what were their experiences?
Im just trying to fight hair loss. If hair growth happens with it, wonderful.. if it doesnt– then I just want to make sure that my hair becomes stronger.
So what are your suggestions ladies? (:

Not sure, but I have hashimoto’s disease, and both my disease & my meds cause me to lose hair, so I’m interested too!

I don’t know how much help this will be, as I haven’t taken them, but my roommate did. She took it because medications she was on made her hair and nails brittle. She didn’t take it for hair loss, just for breakage. The biotin definitely helped with that, and she said when she stopped taking it her hair and nails would go back to breaking. I think it would just help your body with keratin production, so I wouldn’t worry about body hair or any of that. Depending on the cause of your hair loss, biotin may or may not help.

I take it once a day. My eyebrows seem to grow faster, but that’s it. No weird spots of hair growth. I never had hair sheeding so I can’t answer that.

Thanks everyone. (:
@ananeele: how much mg is in one tablet though? Mine will be about 750 I believe– would that still help out?

I was taking a 7500mcg. I use the Sundown Naturals. They’re really small.

I take biotin and folic acid along with my multi for hair growth. Within about 4 months my Fiance was telling me how much thicker my hair looked. I stopped taking it for a while and while I didn’t notice any new growth, I noticed my hair was not falling out. I totally recommend it…it really helped me and then when I added the folic acid I really saw a difference. The only negative is that ALL my hair grows faster now! (eyebrows, etc..)
