@al1988: I’d never buy a foundation without getting a sample first. Maybe you can try finding an online shop that provides samples of MAC foundation. I tried the new Matchmaster foundation the other day, and it felt nice and light on my skin with light/medium coverage. But my skin is rather oily and without primer, it was gone a couple of hours later.

I love MAC, and I use their Studio Sculpt foundation from time to time, but I don’t think it’s great for every one. It had really heavy coverage and the colors are a little off. Especially in foundations, I know a lot of people who’ve had much better luck with Bobby Brown, and even more with Clinique. MAC breaks a lot of people out, and I think it’s a lot of money for something that your skin might react negatively to.

@al1988: I used to be a frequent user of Mac Studio Fix (it is very matte). I am not familiar with the other coverage options but I am very familiar with their ingredients.

MAC cosmetics contain several known pore clogging ingredients that are often overlooked by the typical consumer. It is called the MAC cycle and my dermatologist talks about it all the time. Women use MAC products, break out and use more. While I am sure this doesn’t apply to everyone it seems to be pretty typical if more than one dermatologist has this theory, including mine.

Anyway here are two great websites to check the ingredients if you decided to go ahead with MAC:

I used to use studio fix, but it smelled so strongly of vegetable oil I had to stop. -_-

i stopped breaking out after switching from MAC to bare minerals. It is just that for ME MAC is SO thick it does clog my pores. I still use MAC, still have it but I dont use it everyday. Only on weekends when i go out. I think that it is really gonna depend on your skin type as to how the matte look or any of them will stay on you. My face gets oily in the t zone so studio fix foundation NEEDS to be touched up with thier blotting powder for my make up to not get funky looking.
