Beedoglady:  Have you considered the paw print ring that a PP mentioned, but in a low setting and bezeled? You could use diamonds, moissanite, or sapphire (or any other stone, I’m just mentioning the top three durable ones off the top of my head) and you could wear it everyday (Especially if it’s gold or platinum for more durability). Goodluck bee, let us know what you decide on!

I’m probably considered a crazy dog lady because I love my dog so much, and I wouldn’t do it. I think it would be nice as a different piece but not as an engagement ring.

Beedoglady:  Huge dog fan here.  I would advise you against it.  I would probably cry every time I look at the ring after my furbaby passes away.  I have the paw print of one of my deceased furbaby as a memento, and I get really sad every time I see it.   Also, how would you decide which furbaby to be on your ring??

I’m literally obsessed with my dogs, and even more so with my heart dog who passed say a few months ago. Maybe get a nice locket to wear on a necklace? I did that and have my baby’s ashes in it now and wear it everyday. Wear it maybe with her name or photo in it? Then maybe ashes if/when the time comes?

Love my dogs and hate to sound morbid but they do not live forever. People have many dogs in a lifetime, 15-20 years down the line you want a wedding ring with a reminder of a dog that passed?

I totally would!! I also work with my hands.  Im a farmer.  So i want to just wear a plain band. I would love to have one of my dogs engraved in a ring or pendant.  Great idea.  Please share pictures once you have it.

Oh gosh. Sorry to say this, but I love dogs too and … that’s tacky.

ETA: If you love it, why not just have it made and wear it as a RHR?

Why not skip an engagement ring and just do a wedding band?

I’m a huge animal lover but I would never do that for the reasons PPs mention. If you want a piece of jewelry that symbloizes your pets, why not get a necklace like the ones mothers get with pets’ names engraved? Etsy has tons of those.

I’d just go with a plain band if I were you.
