I loved the speeches our guests made too.  I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard.

My Darling Husband wore his work dress uniform for our ceremony (which is great, but I see it all the time for regimental balls, community events, etc), and changed for the reception.  I think my favourite part of the whole day was when he came out and I got to see him in the tux for the first time.  Soo handsome!

I know! I can’t believe its over!

After all of that planning, here were my 3 favorite moments:

1). Our vows.  I will never forget this moment – it was by FAR the sharpest memory in my mind and the happiest.

2). His expression for the first dance.  After months and months of picking the perfect first dance song, because I originally nixed the one song he has always wanted, I surprised him with it on our wedding day.  He literally had no idea until the song started to play.  It was a great moment.

3).  My dance with my dad.  I have never seen him cry and he had tears in his eyes when I told him that I married a man just like him.  It wasn’t until I received the pro picture proofs that I saw he had tears in his eyes when he was walking me down the aisle.

After all that planning, all the drama with picking out the perfect linens to rent, how my hair would be, etc etc etc – everything other than those three moments turned into a complete blur.  To date, it was the best day of my life, and our two week honeymoon in Maui afterwards ranks right up there as well.

I really loved my our ceremony. My mom married us and it is the definitely best memory I have from the day. We released balloons in memory of our loved ones that are deceased and it was a beautiful moment. We also had a great time taking our pictures just the two of us. Lots of laughs there! And now a few pictures for your viewing pleasure- would love to see everyone else’s as well!

My fav moments:

1. His face as i walked down the aisle and how much he loved the song i was walking to (i had been keeping it a secret)

2. When my husband and my dad both said how after all of my stressing and fussing over the wedding when they thought i was insane, they finally could understand my vision, and they loved it ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Dancing with everyone!!!!

4. ok all of it… the whole wedding, it was amazing!!!!

1. On the way to the castle (our ceremony was held there). I remember how excited my sister was (she’s the bridemaid), she kept telling me, ‘I’m so happy that you’re GETTING MARRIED’ and we told each other how beautiful we were *lol*.

2. Our beautiful ceremony. I’d never forget that. Our pastor made it a touching one. After he introduced us to our guests ‘Mr & Mrs T’, I saw tears in my dad’s eyes. I’ve never seen him cry before. I saw some of my friends in happy tears as well. I’m a cry baby and I knew I was going to cry!

3. Our first dance. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have to choose?! Here goes…

(1) Seeing my groom for the first time as I walked down the aisle.  (I had a very long “aisle” which involved first walking at an angle down a grassy hill in my heels, before I turned and walked directly towards my groom.  The first half of the aisle I was staring down at the ground to avoid wiping out.  Then I suddenly remembered to look up, and there he was, and he looked amazing!)

(2) Our ceremony — we wrote all of the text ourselves, and my mom read a poem that she wrote specifically for our wedding.  We hadn’t heard the poem before our wedding day, so it was such a surprise listening to what she chose to write.

(3) The absolute best memory is not really a tangible one, but it was the experience being surrounded by all of the love of our family and friends for an entire evening.  It was an emotional high.  Nothing could burst my bubble of perfect happiness.  I have never in my life felt so completely happy and complete like that.

…and then there was all of the dancing…  ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats everyone!

I think the vows we each wrote that we didn’t hearuntil the ceremony was the best part along with looking down on the reception from the balcony above.

Just wanted to stop in and wish all of my fellow July 2010 brides congratulations! I can’t believe that it is now August 2010! Personally, it’s felt like a relief to me to experience life post-wedding. I love looking back on our wedding day though! My favorite part was just sitting next to Mr. Turtle at dinner, and relaxing in the warmth of the love of our friends and family.  Their kind words, generosity, and genuine demonstrations of support meant so much to me that day! I will never forget it! Cheers to a great first year of marriage! ๐Ÿ™‚  (And keep in touch!)

Hi Ladies! Congratulations to you all!  I hope you all had wonderful weddings!  I had more fun at our wedding than every other wedding I have ever been to!  It was Beautiful and so much FUN!  I don’t know if I can pick one fav, so here are a couple of my favs:

  1. The first look.  All day I was pretty calm on the outside, but on the inside I had so much anxity…not about getting married…just had a hard time letting go of all the planning.  But once I saw my groom I felt so much better!

     2. The ceremony.  As soon as I sat down (yes, I got to sit) and looked around I        couldn’t believe how beautiful everything was…and i was SO happy!

We just got the pro pics back!  It has been so much fun to relive the memories and see al the details I missed the first time around!

Just now checking in, I’m so glad everyone else had such wonderful wedding memories! A few of my top warm-squishy moments:

-Walking down the aisle. We have a pro photo looking down the aisle focused on his face, and of course that’s exactly what I was focused on when I was walking, so it’s exactly what I saw during that moment, and I can’t look at this photo without tearing up.

-Our whole ceremony. Our pastor gave an absolutely wonderful message, everything was beautiful, and my then-fiance kept mouthing “I love you” at me when our eyes would meet in between readings or whenever. (I wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d gotten nervous and tried to make jokes at me, which would have been very “us,” but I’m really glad he kept it serious for just a few minutes).

-Dancing with my dog at the reception. I trained him to jump up and give me his front paws so we could do this. It was fantastic.

-Our first dance.

-The speeches. Our best man made us laugh, and my Maid/Matron of Honor (my sister) made me cry; they were completely perfect.

-Every single person who was at the wedding spontaneously convening in a dance circle, everyone with their arms around each other, belting along with “Don’t Stop Believin'” at the top of their lungs while my husband and I danced together in the middle. You just can’t plan that stuff.

-All of my college friends gathering for a group photo and spontaneously bursting out with a few choruses of our alma mater.

-Collapsing into our vintage Rolls Royce at the end of the night and hugging each other, relaxing, and soaking it all in.

I can’t wait for our video; there are so many moments I want to relive.

It’s funny how in some ways it doesn’t really feel like the wedding is completely over, since there’s always one more thing left – whether it’s waiting for pro photos to come back, or the video, or finishing thank-you notes, or unpacking gifts, or simply the fact that my dress is still hanging in the closet instead of posted for sale in the classifieds.
