I can’t show you a picture because we havent put in the center stone yet, but we got a 1.5 carat equivelent Mira Moissanite. I think its plenty big and I have larger fingers (8.75) A 1.5 carat diamond is only 7.4mm so a 1.5 carat Moissanite would be a tad larger (7.5)

Is you setting intricate? Im just asking because I have a 3 stone mini halo ring and decided that the 2carat was too large, it took away from the ring! Good luck and hope it helped!

I wear a size 6 ring and I have a 1.5 CT Moissanite Solitaire and I thought it was maybe too big when I first saw it (fiance picked out the size) but I’ve gotten use to the size and it’s actually a very nice size.

I agree,  1.5 should be good for your ring size.

You can see 4 different sizes in this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V10uICrYT4

@BrittMike12: I’m a size 6, although since I’m going with a 1.8mm band, I had a jewelry person say I might want to go a half-size down because the diamond (or in my case, moissanite) might spin too much. When I’ve looked at diamonds in 1.5 and 2 CT, they almost look the exact same, but yes, I totally agree it’s hard to make a blind choice! My theory is that I don’t ever want to change anything about my original ring, and I know I’d be happy with a 2CT my whole life, so I’ll probably go with that. (Well, assuming it doesn’t look rediculous!)

I wear a size six ring and Fiance proposed with a 1.25 moissy. It is the perfect size. If your fingers are teeny tiny, you might want to go with that 1.5. I know it doesn’t look like much of a difference side by side, but on your finger you will be able to tell.

@SecretBee23: I have a fairly thin band (not sure of the exact size) but the spinning is actually my problem. It doesn’t spin a lot but it does seem to move a bit. At first I thought my fiancé might have ordered the wrong size lol then I thought maybe I went down a ring size but after reading your post I think that’s what the problem is.

I think the difference between the 1.5 CT and 2 CT (I’m horrible with terminology so let’s see if anyone can understand this lol) is the overall height (the crown to the tip on the bottom). I think the girdle diameter is the same. I’ve heard that you can’t tell the difference from looking at the top but you can tell the difference from looking at the side. I think they actually say it in that video.

@noenyu: If there’s not a difference in how it looks, other that height, that makes me want a 1.5 more!

Someone had posted this somwhere else but I don’t know where so I’ll repost it here. This might be able to help (though it doesn’t state ring size and its for diamonds). http://www.jewellerywebshop.co.uk/1.50ctfingersize.htm

Also, Moissanite Co has two moissanite carat guide. The picture in this one is a little big : http://www.moissaniteco.com/guide_carat.html but you can kind of see the differents between the two sizes. There is this one as well : http://www.moissaniteco.com/download/Moissanite-Comparison.pdf

There is a slight difference but not much. Hope that can help Smile

Moissaniteco has a size sheet on their web site that you can print out and see the difference in size. I have earrings that are.75 and my e-ring is 1 ct and you can notice a slight difference byt only if the are side by side and you are really looking for it. For $300 I would go for the smaller one. The difference is only half a mm.
