I’m thinking of getting married in NY. In Central Park:) and I’m considering in the Spring. I want to see all the beautiful flowers however I don’t want to be extremely hot. I never been to NY and found really nice elopement packages online. What month do you recommend going? Thanks in advance

pink624 : I’m a New Yorker and I’ve always loved Central Park since I was a little kid!
I would recommend April or May for the cherry blossoms.

May. It’s pretty hit or miss on being cold in April and it starts to get gross in June. Also think of a rain plan.

I would do it in either mid to late May or early June.

Definitely May. April can be cold or rainy and is more of a weather risk. June can get pretty hot some days especially in the sun.

Spring in nyc is wonderful, I’m getting married in March and the elopement coordinator we’re working with does Central Park packages for under 1200. We are still considering CP and checked out a few locations but we are also checking out some Brooklyn/queens locations as well. I recommend Stephanie from Le Image in case your interested ๐

Thank you all. So May seems like a better month. I wish I can go and just stay there. Everyone who visits loves it. My Fiance liked the idea. Now I just have to hope we will be on board so I can move forward with planning
SabL22 : thank you. Is there a web site link you have for her ๐ happy planning. Can you keep me posted?

Mid-May is best, April can be hit or miss with the weather.

pink624 : Eh, most of my friends liked NYC a lot for the first 6 months and then grew tired of it and left within 3 years. I think it’s more magical when you visit here instead of live here.

We got married in Manhattan in April (2016) and it was still quite chilly with a chance of rain, which fortunately held off. In some of our outdoor pictures, you can see the goosebumps on my arms if you zoom in. I think it was mid 40s but I know the weather can be a toss up. I think I’d go with later spring in the hopes of having warmer weather!

pink624 : sure thing,

They have packages for photography and officiants. The permit for Central Park is $400 and you can get married anywhere in the park with the exception of one particular garden which I think is an extra $200. You can obtain the permit through them or call the parks department yourself. NY has unpredictable weather but for the city it usually tends to be warmer than other parts of the state. I’m on long island and our weather has been colder than nyc on average for the last few years. I’m getting married in March and I’d say that’s the most horrific month in terms of unpredictability (snow/rainy/colder) my birthday is in April and have had the chance snowstorm lol so May should be fine! Happy planning!

SabL22 : Be sure to bring a warm coat! Snow in March and temps in the 30s-40s aren’t uncommon, though hopefully you’ll get a nice day. Sometimes it’s in the 60s and sunny, too – but it’s really a toss up.
If you’re planning on doing outdoors, I’d definitely go May or June. The past few Junes have been warm but not too muggy or hot yet.

browneyedgirl24 : oh yea I know lol we go to the city quite a bit as we live 20 mins outside of it but yes coat is going to be essential in March, but it has to be March as it is our 10 yr anniversary and a special date ๐
