i was wondering the same thing.

and its scary to think that the school had security put in place – makes me think.  I work at a school that the doors are unlocked during the day, so virtually anyone can enter.  and its not one building.  There are wings, that you need to go outside to get to them.  Makes me think about keeping my door locked.

@LizzieMo:  I’m not a teacher but I commend you for taking steps in comforting your students.  My 6 year old was crying last night before bed, scared.  (She heard the news from my sister- thanks, sis.) Thank you for everything you to help our children.

Thank you for posting this. My school is just down beginning lockdown drills and putting a new procedure in place, but our security is just….not where it should be. We are a practically totally open campus, to the point where the playground sits next to the parking lot. The guy could drive right in (as if the little security guy could stop him) and that would be that. Everything is available to him. I’m scared, I’m angry and I feel totally defeated inside – when do the monsters just stop coming out of the woodwork?
