I had always thought I’d buy a dress with straps. What did I do? I bought a strapless dress (I’m adding a sparkley belt to the bottom pleat of the bodice. It looks great but I don’t have a picture). I am thinking of adding straps similar to the Alfred Angelo Dress in the link below. What is your opinion? (Keep in mind, this is unaltered and I need it taken in on the top to be a little more snug.)

And here is the link to the Alfred Angelo dress with the straps I like. Be sure to check out how the straps look in the front and the back, too, please:

Your dress is gorgeous! Really! Adding straps won’t add anything spectacular, in my opinion, and will only hide your nice shoulders. I was intending for my dress to be something else than what I bought, and I go back and forth on it, but when it works, it works! Maybe add a statement necklace or something? You look beautiful!

I think it could look good either way. My only suggestion would be that if you stay strapless, then I recommend a statement necklace.

I can’t do a statement necklace because I am wearing my grandma’s pearls. They are thin, fresh water pearls. If I weren’t sentimental about the pearls, I would definitely do a statement necklace.

I think it’s gorgeous the way it is!

i’m in the same boat as you I wanted straps I knew that if i got a strapless dress id add cap sleeves or something.
I find “the one” and its strapless and i love the dress better with out straps. I had the consultant add the straps to see how it would look a nd i was like no way i bought the dress with out straps because it was the dress for me the way it is.

pearls will be beautiful with that (and can classify as a statement piece because they’ll pop unlike a thin chain). yay for you!

Is that a Paloma? I love it strapless. I would say if the straps make you more comfortable then go for it but I love the look of it the way it is

I would leave it as is – it looks great on you!

I almost bought that dress, that was my runner up! I love it the way it is, and the belt is a great addition. If you feel more comfortable in straps, then add them.. but I think it’s gorgeous the way it is!

I think it looks good strapless. You look amazing in it.

I added straps to my dress. I loved the dress and then when we held up the straps to it, it was like oh yes, this is my dress!

The strapless looks MUCH better, otherwise it just looks like a strapless dress with straps added, kind of an after thought look going on, in my opinion.
You look beautiful in the strapless its perfect for you.

Personally, I’m terrified of strapless dresses… but then again I’ve got a lot going on up stairs if you know what I mean.
If it were mine, I would add straps– in fact that’s what I’m doing tonight with my own strapless dress. I was in a similar position, I never wanted a strapless dress, but I fell in love with the rest of it, so I figured it would be easy enough to add them later.

I love your dress as is but maybe as a compromise you can add a lace illusion top like Mrs funnel cake did! she wore it for the ceremony and took it off for the reception.
