I need as many opinions as I can get from you lovely ladies!
I purchased my dress, David’s Bridal T9612, a few months ago.
I loved the beadwork, lace, silhouette and the beautiful back. So I bought it even though, in my opinion, it seemed to lack some sort of focal point in the front. Since buying it, I have played around and tried different things to dress it up in the front.
The empire line right below the bust has posed some sort of issue with the things I have tried to add. When I tried on a sash with the dress it seemed to chop me up both at the waist and bust.
The bust line was lined with a thin beaded applique (which I removed because I wanted the dress to flow better). The dress now looks much better with a sash around the waist, without the applique. If I go with the waist sash, my options are: off-centered bow in the front, and bow in the centered in the back. I also thought maybe I could dress up the sash with a beaded applique. In which case I bought a beautiful beaded applique from http://www.gloryshouse.com . I loved the stuff she has. Lots of applique and trim that can be used to dress up wedding gowns, headbands, shoes etc.
I also tried adding a sash at the empire line, creating less of a choppy look, but somehow doesn’t look quite right. For some reason I feel like the empire sash takes away from the elegance and shape of the dress. But what do you think?
I also considered not wearing any type of belt or sash and leaving the dress the way it is and dressing it up with an awesome updo, makeup and jewelry and a simple applique centered in the front.
Any how, here are the different pictures of me in my dress and the options I mentioned above. What do you think? Do you think that the sash looks okay at the waist, even though there is a seam under the bust?
