No Bolero. Maybe add a belt or just work the simple look. : (5 votes)

I feel your strapless pain.  I too wanted sleeves of some sort but ended up falling in love with a strapless.  I’m having the seamstress add sleeves of some sort.  I’m not 100% in love with any of the above coverage options.  My favorite is the bolero #1(off the shoulder lace).  I would hate to see all of that pretty beading on your dress get covered up though.  Check out my thread.  A lot of good visuals from the awesome research done by the bees!  For hair, if you are going for whimsy, I would go with blonde #2 pic (center part with waves) or brunette (sideswept with broach in hair) and love the makeup inspiration.  Here is my thread link for more visuals for covering up.  Good luck to you!

akkaer1:  You have an AMAZING dress!!! I would tell you not to bolero. BUT if you do want to use it, these are my thoughts:

I feel that the corset has exquisite beading and lace details and the off-shoulder would be in conflict with it

The second one, on the other hand has the same feel as the corset and complements it. Go for it!!!

The third one… well…. It would be nice with a simpler dress. But the one you have is a statement piece, and these two things would be confusing.

Sorry for the long answer but I wanted to put some thoughts into it! Love boleros!

akkaer1:  Sorry! I just saw your post about the straps. I like them BUT I think that the charm of a bolero is that you can take it off to dance more comfortably!!! If you add the straps, you’ll have to commit to them. And knowing that lace and beading can itch after a while, I’d really think about it twice.
