So I’ve been dreaming of my structured low bun up do since I got engaged. It was just so … I don’t know … bridal. But after 2 trials, I have officially given up. My hair and makeup gal – who is sweet as can be and so good – Nicole DeAnne out here in LA – explained that this happens to a lot of brides. You love a certain look, but it just doesn’t work for ya – doesn’t bring out your best features. SO — our compromise is going to be a swooped back and relaxed low pony with curls. Is anyone else going with this kind of a look, and do you have pictures? I am looking for more inspiration and confirmation that this is going to be a good look for me.
My dress is the Pronovias Recova – spaghetti straps with pretty little flowers and leaves along them. Very Anthropologie and detailed. LOOOOOONG train.
Thanks girls – this has been my biggest obession … well this and earrings.

I’m thinking of doing the same thing! Loose low swept-back ponytail with waves. The more I try my dress on, the more I think I want something less structured than a bun. Here are a couple pictures that I like. Some of them are more half-up/half-down, but could easily be made into a ponytail. Let me know if you find any more pictures!!

Why don’t you get a trial run done at a hair salon to see what looks better. Ask them to do it in all the different styles, take pics, then have everyone decide after that. That’s what I did.

Good idea! I guess I kinda sorta did that in a way. I guess I just feel like I only get so much time at the trial that I can’t mess around too much. I am tempted to get another trial with my girl to be safe, but it was $150 (well that included makeup too) but still …. I don’t want to have to pay for another one if I don’t have to. I am just so relieved that I found a pic I’m truly in love with — going with hair style 1. Thanks again @missomally!
