Hello bees! I really really love my veil and want to wear it as long as possible. However, it is a cathedral length veil and it will definitely get in the way, right? so, my question is:
Do I bustle the veil too in order to extend it’s life at the wedding/reception?
Which now poses the following questions:
How does this work? is it easy? is it worth it? How many soon-to-be brides are thinking about this option?
Thanks for you feedback!

I actually don’t have an answer to your question. But I had a cathedral length veil, with a blusher. At the reception, I just kept the blusher on. It looked nice and wasn’t a bother.

Tanya123- although you didn’t really answer my question, you gave me a great idea that I hadn’t even considered! And I think it might work! Thanks 🙂

I’ve never heard of bustling a veil, but I’ve thought of doing either what Tanya suggested with having two veil lengths, or switching from my Cathedral length veil at the ceremony to a cool headpiece (like a headband or hair flower/feather) for the reception. Then, you could always have your veil preserved in some way. I plan on having mine made into SOMETHING after the wedding. Just not sure what that will be yet!

driftslikesmoke – that’s a fantastic idea. I like the flower during the reception and then also doing something else with the veil alltogether after the wedding! When I figure it out I’ll update 🙂

I have heard of bustling a veil but have never seen it done. I would call the bridal shop where you bought your dress and ask about it.

I haven’t heard of bustling a veil or seen a picture of it. I would think it might get a little weighty and bulky hanging from your head all night. Also- to put the ribbons or eye hooks on the veil to bustle it might be visible on your veil when it is down.
I like the blusher idea.
You could always hook it over your arm during your first dance so it owulkd at least be in some of the photos and then take it off for the rest of the reception so it doesn’t slow you down.
Here’s a picture:
