So my fiancé and I are having our main big wedding in Mexico this March. But to save a little money and also have a more personalized symbolic ceremony in March…we are having our small civil ceremony first here in the states in January. we were thinking just to go down to city hall and I was planning to buy a simple dress from Macy’s or something for the occasion (I wanted to keep my fiancé excited for my dress in Mexico). But now I found a Mori Lee 5108 dress for sale in my town for a steal! (Like I’d probably end up spending more at Macy’s lol) but idk if I should purchase and use it for the city hall ceremony! Might be too much and take away from the dress I bought for Mexico. But it’s such a good price I almost want to go for it and it would be so amazing to get to wear two beautiful dresses, especially since both occasions will be special in their own way. What would you ladies do? Yay or nah?

Go for it. It’s a good deal as you said and if it helps make the day then it’s worth it.

What dress did you buy for Mexico?

My instinct is to say ‘go for it’ just cos it’s a fab dress, but a sensible part of me wants to ask you what your feelings are about the city hall bit.
if to you the legal but is just the business part, low key, no party etc then keep it that way and keep a wow wedding dress for Mexico.
If you’re having two celebrations then wear both dresses.

I think it’s beautiful! Go for it!

Why not wear that in Mexico?
Personally I think it’s a little over the top for city hall.

OP, picture yourself at City Hall in that dress, standing in line, filling out paper work, using the washroom, walking amongst the 9 to 5ers, perhaps going out to lunch or dinner? and if you feel positive about what you are imagining, then go ahead with no qualms.
Something else to consider is that a dress like that calls for matching levels of hair and make up, so if you are adept at doing that yourself great! Otherwise that’s another expense if you have to hire someone.

I wouldn’t wear that to city hall, but my city hall might be different from yours. Mine is busy in the middle of downtown Houston and the area where they have them isn’t very glamorous. It would just be a bit awkward. BUT with that being said, if you can pull it off and it’s in your heart to do it, I say more power to you! 🙂

Do it…the whole hive gives you its blessing!

Haha thanks bees! I think I am going to go for it! We’re from Vegas so perhaps we can do one of the cheap chapel packages instead of city hall. It would be nicer anyway since our closest family will be with us 🙂 And if not, then I will just sell it to another lovely bride for the same deal I got for it. Right now I just can’t pass it up! Thank you all for the advice! 🙂
