I’m planning on having a reception dress. I have one picked out and I heard wedding gown are very hot and heavy.

I won’t be changing out of my but I think it is a personal choice. For me, I only get to wear my super duper gorgeous dress for mere hours, so I want to wear it for as long as possible.

I’m considering it! I never planned to change because my ceremony is only 30 minutes and didn’t think it would be right to change out of my gown so quickly. However, I recently changed my rehearsal venue from a white linen restaurant to a casual beachfront lounge and the short white cocktail dress I bought is no longer appropriate. Not wanting to waste the money I spent on it, I’m thinking of using it as a “going away” dress that I’ll change into maybe after dinner. Had I known it would be a reception dress, I would have gotten it in a style more similar to my actual gown, though. When shopping, I stayed away from lace and sweetheart necklines because I didn’t want to foreshadow the actual elements of my gown at the rehearsal dinner. Now, it’ll be a complete switcheroo…which isn’t necessarily a bad thing
