I really hated the ugly chairs at my venue and ended up not even noticing the chairs. Both sides of our family are very honest and forthcoming, they all told me how beautiful it all looked and no one ever mentioned the chairs. I did hear about how ugly the mantle was behind the officiant so I definitely would have heard about chairs.

IF you don’t cover them, you’ll definitely have to dress up the tables. As is…. isn’t pretty.

I would actually go one step further and rent chivari chairs.

save your money. No one notices chairs excepts for other brides. you could do gorgeous Tiffany blue tablecloths, and no one will be looking at the chairs.

I would rather have a beautiful chair,, and spend less on something else.. I think you do notice the chairs,, its like leaving the icing off the wedding cake,,I think the price is great

You also don’t need to add a sash.
Have you ever seen a picture of an elegant venue, home, hotel, club etc not taken during a wedding, where the chairs had a sash tied around the back?
Of course not. Somehow the wedding industry has convinced many brides that a little piece of organza will make the difference between a so-so decor and an elegant one.

If you want elegant wedding I’d cover them. I’d cut else wear and cover them. They do not scream elegant to me.

If you provide the drinks, I’ll sit in your generic chairs, happy as a clam.

@StephieBee: +1. That venue is going to need a lot of work to fit your theme.

The chairs are pretty neutral. I wouldn’t worry about them.
I really dislike chair covers anyways. I don’t understand why people prefer the look of ghost blobs over real chairs. Maybe that’s just me!

The only thing I notice about chairs at weddings are whether or not they are comfortable.

@BreakfastAtHollys: Since your colors include black I really wouldn’t worry about it. Its one of those things that can go either way really…..I’d use the money elsewhere in your case thou since it fits in with your colors!

I wouldn’t cover them. White linens with Tiffany blue napkins and the black chairs would look great.

Don’t cover them or upgrade. They will blend in fine with your theme and they look fairly comfortable. At most maybe tie a bow or ribbon on them. Black is neutral and part of your color scheme, I would imagine. Use the money for something else.
