I had alot of the same concerns when I was debating Destination Wedding or not. However what I did was take away all the factors all the pro/cons and envisioned where I wanted to get married and what would truly make me happy. And I ended up picking the Destination Wedding and yea its more hoops to jump through but its once in a lifetime and I would have felt disappointed if I took the easy way out and got married at home.

From the sounds of it you are very similar, you want to get married in Las Vegas but its more difficult. Go for what you want i say, so I vote Vegas.

If it were me, I think I’d rather do the wedding in Palm Springs.

Plan some extra events if you want to spend more time with people over the weekend.

We ended up spending a lot of time with guests (both locals and out-of-towners) over our wedding weekend and I was sooo glad.

We met up with a bunch of people at various bars on Thursday night.  Pretty much invited everybody for the rehearsal dinner on Friday. Then went out drinking/dancing at a bar afterwards. And on Sunday, we ended up having an impromptu open house/bbq at our place. It turned into Reception Part II, with everybody BYOBing. SO MUCH FUN.
