Should do candy buffet DIY or is my situtation too difficult and I should just hire a service? See below…
So our wedding is the weekend before Halloween of this year and we just had to do a candy buffet! To save money I really want to do it myself. We have a Sam’s membership and around Halloween there are just so many options of what we can do. My issue is that we live 4 hours from the venue which means I will have to lug all of the candy down with us along with our luggage, other DIY décor, my dog and my dress! Also, we are using the containers from the venue (also to save money) because they used to do candy buffets.
So, on top of having to lug down the candy, I have to basically plan the buffet nearly blind, not knowing how large the containers are. I am going down to the venue for my tasting next weekend and will be taking photos of the containers, but I wish they would let me borrow them until the wedding. But I am not sure if they would.
So I am becoming a little overwhelmed with the idea of doing the buffet DIY mostly due to not having the containers at home to work with because I also wanted to make the ribbon tags for the containers and that is almost impossible without having them to work with. So I have been considering hiring a service to do it for me. I figure, it would be one less thing that I have to worry about but would be atleast 100 dollars more than doing it myself. The budget it tight, but if I moved around some things I think I could manage it.
