So ive been dying my hair red since i was like 18. Naturally Im pretty light blonde and every once in a while i get in the mood to go back to it but i always end up going back. And ive mixed in some browns and lighter reds like strawberry blonde. But for the wedding my mom really wants me to go back to blonde. I wasnt planning on doing that but she keeps pointing out how pretty my hair was in my senior pics when I was still blonde. Its kinda hard to get back to the right color of blonde cause I have to bleach it so much then dye it to the right shade. ive done cosmetology school and know that a lot of product i would have to plus the cost. im fine with the red but she thinks it will be too flashy for a bride and the wrong shade can be too bright. so heres pics of me with both colors. the blonde is the senior pic my mom keep wanting me to go back to. sorry for it being blurry i had to take a pic of the pic

Your hair looks healthy in the red picture. I’d be worried that the amount of bleaching and dyeing would negatively affect the shine and quality of your hair.

@peachacid: Thats kinda what im worried about. Id hate to fry it all before the wedding. I mean i can get some deep condtioning treatments done always but again even more cost. wish i could have the length on the blonde but have it red. LOVED it when it so long and im really trying to grow it back

@jbbs1222: I don’t think your shade of red is too “flasy.” Before I scrolled down to see the pics, I was picturing BRIGHT Rhianna red. I like it, and if you like it, I wouldn’t change it.

I love your red, but I’m a bit biased as a bottle ginger myself. My hair looked great at our wedding. Certainly not too bright. I have some photos that we took before sunset and the lighting does make it look super bright (and I love it!), but it doesn’t look like that in the rest of the photos. I think the question is whether you plan to stay a redhead. If you’ve been a redhead since 18, and plan to stay a redhead, then I think you should look like “you” on your wedding day and stick with red. I’ve been bottle red since 14, so randomly going to my “roots” for the wedding would have been really odd.

I think the red looks great on you! I wouldn’t change it, especially if it’s a look you’ve had for years

I think the red is great but I’m a bit biased as a bottle redhead myself. I think the shade of red you have is perfect-not too flashy and looks natural. Do what you think is best, not what your mom thinks. It’s important to look like yourself on your wedding day not someone completely different.

The red looks awesome! Works great with your skin tone.
