I don’t think I would ever get extensions. I’ve heard it’s too damaging.

I used clip in extensions for my wedding and they worked out great.

I was in a wedding this summer and the bride used clip in extensions and they looked amazing. you couldn’t tell the difference and it allowed her to have long curls. I am debating it myself if my hair doesn’t grow more by next summer lol.

My friend had her hair part up too and it didn’t show. It just depends where you clip them in. Just make sure whoever is doing your hair knows how to put them in nicely 🙂

@SoontobeD: I wore permanent individual extensions for two years. They look VERY natural, but also are very costly to maintain because they have to be taken out and put back in every 3-4 months. They damage the hair to some extent as in causing breakage and split ends but not nearly as bad as you heard. The longer you wear them, the greater the damage. I wore them until I grew my hair to my current mid-back length, and afterwards didn’t have to chop any hair other than a regular trim.

On my wedding day I wore less expensive clip-ons to add more length and fullness. They gave me the look I wanted so was definitely worth it. If put in by a professional hairstylist or someone experienced with them, they should not show at all even with an updo.

Here are a couple photos of my natural hair and with the extensions on my wedding day.

i would love to get them but my Fiance thinks it is a weird concept. of course I could always get subtle ones and just not tell him! he’d probably be like, ‘wow your hair looks really nice’, and never realize I had gotten them!

i am slowly growing my hair out from a chin length bob. . .i have had to accept, i am not going to have long hair, or even mid-length hair, on my wedding day! i am going to be a short haired bride. . .sigh.

I totally lucked out on the extensions.  I bought human hair extensions on ebay for $27 with free shipping.  I took my chances on the color & it turned out to be a close match.

The stylist who did my hair/makeup specializes in extensions & she said if we warm up my color just a notch next time I got my hi/low lites done, we’d have a near perfect match.  So I had my regular stylist do that.

They are clip ins & they worked out fabulously well!

I wore clip ins and loved them! I wore them for my Rehearsal Dinner and curled them and had my stylist put my hair in a low, side swept pony with a flower in my hair. For my wedding I wore my hiar up and the extensions gave me so much more hair my updo looked fantastic. I got so many compliments on my hair. My stylist reccomended a place to buy them and I ended up getting 100% human hair in 18″ for only $100.

I bought clip-in ones from Sally’s. They’re real human remi hair (important), and cost about $100. I haven’t used them yet so I can’t speak from experience, but the research I did says the Sally’s ones are just fine. Perhaps not as hearty as some other brands if you plan to wear them daily, but to wear them a few times they’ll be great.

Thanks for this post! I have long, but thin hair and I have been thinking about extensions for my wedding day too.  I like the idea of clip-in extensions adding some fullness.

I have very fine blonde hair. That said, I try to keep it above my shoulders.  I started growing my hair out a year in advance.  My stylist in Chicago added some temporary extensions to add volume and a little length for my wedding in Michigan.  I loved it!  Nobody could even tell that I had the extensions unless I told them.  It was well worth the money in my opinion, but nothing I would do for the long term. @SoontobeD: You are going to laugh when I tell you…I used Jessica Simpson extensions. LOL!! They were awesome though. I found them half price on ebay. They stayed in all day and nobody could tell.
