(Closed) To Halo or Not to Halo? That seems to be the question…

Add a delicate halo head to current engagement ring

Swap out diamond into new but similar halo setting

Leave the ring as is and learn to love it.

kdums2018 :  i never understand posts like this, why do people always refer to the “in thing” when discussing a beautiful diamond ring, a particular design, shape , size or color should reflect ones personal taste, not what is “in” or what you are scared will be “out of fashion” in ten years. How can your own personal taste, what you love, not be your forever ring …… yes there may be “trends” and certainly some are more popular at some point in time but at the end of the day, solitaires halos clusters you name it they have ALL been around forever……all ‘classic’

    be individuals….not sheep

I love my round diamond with cushion halo, I suck at taking pictures of my ring, but it is beautiful in person!

when my DH designed it he did it thinking I would get an eternity ring as a wedding band, but I love the look of the plain band against the ring, it pops more!

This is my ring when I tried the eternity band at the jewellers…seems like I was wearing blue ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผ‍โ™€๏ธ, the diamonds were bigger than my pave because I didnt wanted people to be able to tell the difference between both rings; however I felt in love with the plain band

My engagement ring is very similar to the one you currently have. I had a pretty hard time deciding on a band, but finally decided on this one. I will say with the wedding band it changes the look of my entire ring! I hope this helps!

Tara72818 :  My husband proposed with a princess solitaire because at the time I was really into solitaires.  Then after a couple of years I wanted more bling, so I had my diamond reset into a halo, and I’ve never regretted it for a second.  I got a new setting because it is a split shank halo.  I did have people tell me I’d regret it because halos are trendy (not true) but I’m the one wearing it.  I get a lot of compliments on it, but that’s not why I did it.  I look down at my ring every day and smile.

Don’t put too much stress on yourself.  You can always order a couple of cz rings to see if you like thin or chunky halos.  If you change your mind in a few years, then change the ring again.  I’ll be married 5 years this winter and many of my friends have been married longer than me.  Now is the time where I’m starting to see a few people change up their rings.  And that’s OK.

But one thing about halos is that they don’t always make the center stone “pop”, but they do provide more finger coverage.  So be realistic in what you want to achieve.

smithlyinlove :  I love your ring! If you don’t mind me asking, could you share details of the centre stone and the width of your band?

electricddust :  my fiancé got it from Blue Nike! The center stone is a 1ct. I believe an I color and VS1, excellent cut. My band is the micropave setting from Blue Nile. I believe it is 1.8mm! The wedding band is from Longs!

A colleague of mine went through something similar because, despite not being totally in love with her e-ring, she was worried that no matter what she ended up going with as far as adding a halo, that it wouldn’t be exactly what she envisioned. So ultimately she went with two blingy wedding bands because this gave her the extra sparkle and coverage without the risk of not loving the changes to her ring ๐Ÿ™‚
