we didn’t have one, and don’t miss it. i don’t like seeing myself on video. but i also didn’t prioritize photography much– i just wanted to enjoy my day and not be constantly posing for photos.
it really depends how important photography/videography is for you.

We love our wedding videos – couldn’t imagine not having them. I’m a big baby and I’ll watch the extended one when I want to cry lol. Coming up on our 2nd anniversary and it is probably something we will watch every year specifically on our anniversary… but we do watch the shorter highlight video randomly throughout the year. No regrets and worth every penny!

If it’s in your budget, I would do it. I love watching my friends wedding videos and it will be a wonderful memento in the future. I watched my parents’ wedding video recently and I can’t wait to be able to do that with my children one day <3

Uh if you and your Fiance wants one, then you should get one. Is your mom paying? We had a videographer and I love our video! We also paid for a “short” video which was around 4 minutes. We definitely watch that more than the long one (2.5 hours), but I’m glad that we’ll have it when we have kids.

Unthoughtful? That is such a strange concept to me. At the end of the day after the food has been eaten, and the flowers are dead and thrown away, your dress is in the closet….the memories in your photos/video is how you remember the day. Plenty of people don’t have video and don’t miss it. Meanwhile people who have video say it’s definitely worth it. Only YOU know if it’s worth it to you to have the video. Do I watch my video every day? Of course not. I also don’t go through my wedding photos everyday but I’m still damn sure glad I had an awesome photographer. Life happends…you’ll get married, have a house, maybe start a family, and your wedding will be a memory that honestly you won’t give a second thought on a day-to-day basis. But at least for years to come you’ll be able relive it all again through photos and video.
