So I went shopping last night with my very best friend in the world (also totally against me getting anything but a white sparkly diamond as an engagement ring, but i digress…) We were in Macy’s and of course I cant help but look. We happened upon a London blue topaz in a white gold setting and I just had to try it on. I basically fell in love with it, but I didn’t want to purchase it for a few reasons. I am always a sucker for what I imagine to be a good deal so I purchased it anyway. I was really excited for the ring and then began thinking what my Boyfriend or Best Friend would say if he knew I went out and spent money on a ring that looks similar to one I’ve been eyeing for an ering. So I had almost convinced myself to return the ring before we left the mall and my friend convinced me to take it home and look at it again and then decide what to do.
So long story short I couldn’t bear not to show it to my Boyfriend or Best Friend so I drove to his station (he is a volunteer EMT) and showed it to him. He was pleasantly surprised at the deal I got. He actually might have been more excited than I was when I saw it. But, the more I look at it, the more I think I bought it spur of the moment and because it was a great deal, and not because I love it (or have the disposable income to buy it). He told me to keep it and that he would get me something else (hopefully the moissy I fell in love with a fw days ago). But I am unsure what to do. The stone is absolutely amazingly beautiful and I love how it looks on my hand. But even for the money it cost, it was still an expensive ring (at least for my taste). So what do you all think about how it looks on my finger. Is it too big?
Here is the link to the item @ Macy’s
Here is the link to the Moissy that I fell in love with. I think its beautiful and has just a little twist of different. I am sure there are lots of people out there that have this setting but I have never met one and for me thats enough
So please tell me what you think of this ring!

I actually like the blue topaz better. Looks amazing on your finger and totally different than most rings. You have to be completely in love with it though…

I like the ring and think it looks great on you, but if you dont have the disposable income for it, I’d say return it.

It’s gorgeous and unique and you and your SO both love it.
The only question is whether your budget can handle it. If so, I’d say keep it and enjoy it.

Think about what will happen when he proposes with a second ring. Will you want to wear both, or will you only want to wear this one until you get his? Then all the money will have been spent on the blue one to sit in a box. If you’ll wear both then keep it; if not, then return it while you can still get a full refund.

i bought myself a diamond right hand ring, and i’m regretting it now because i know i won’t wear it for a while when SO proposes (any day now… we have the ring). If you LOVE it, then keep it. but if you just got it because it was a great deal, then take it back. My mom has that exact ring actually! i do love it and try hers on a lot, but i do think if i was engaged i wouldn’t wear it because i wouldn’t want to take attention away from the e-ring.

I say return it purely because you do not have the disposable income for it.

I you love it and can afford it then keep it! (it’s something blue, right?)
But if you’re not totally in love with it and/or can’t really afford it then return it, there will be other great deals later on when you have more disposable income.
Other pp’s said it all so I feel like a parrot, lol.

I like the topaz better, not a fan of the moissy setting.
PS: I would have thought that was a sapphire. The color is gorgeous, not too big at all.

@SparkleBaby: Love the blue topaz ring ! I just think its overpriced. I bought a ring exactly like that one on EBay for about $200 that was set in white gold and had diamonds. I think you should keep shopping if you really love that ring. I like it better than the moissanite ring honestly.
Its definitely not too big for your hand either. I have a soft spot for blue topaz because I was married in December and that is the birthstone for that month 🙂
