Does anyone else hate the look or feel of lower lash eyeliner? Every makeup I have ever had done professionally always wants to line the tear line (or whatever you call it) of my eyes. The thing is, I hate it. It doesn’t look natural or even good on me in my opinion. it also irritates my eyes, making them burn. I am a natural makeup kind of girl from day to day, and a bare face girl at home. ;)Perhaps it’s just not what I’m used to? When I have a special event or a night out I glam it up a bit more of course. I usually just smoke my lower lash line out a teensy bit. Jus adding some definition, but not full on liner. Anyone else not doing the full eye liner for their wedding? I’m so undecided. ๐

I don’t like eye liner on the bottom either. I think it makes eyes look smaller.

undecided? you sound pretty decided to me – don’t line them! you can have them rim along the lashline without going to the inner bit.

I usually do a partial line under the lower lashes to the corner of my eye, never in near the tear duct.
I wouldn’t do it if you don’t like the look!

I like to line it, but never the tear line. If you dont like it, just do what youre comfortable with

It’s a personal decision… I vote other! Personally, I never leave my house without eyeliner on my lowerlash/waterline but that’s just me!

@JoJo Bananas:
Yeah, I think so too.
@elliestan:
I say undecided because everyone keeps saying this is the one day to glam it up, blah, blah, blah. I am going to be wearing more makeup than usual of course but just do not think that I will be comfortable with all that on my eyes. :/ I’m just not an eye makeup girl I guess. I wear contacts and somehow always manage to get stuff in my eye.

I am not a fan of eyeliner on my bottom waterline. It makes me look cheap no matter how I apply it.

I line my lower waterline with white or pearl. I find it opens up my eyes and makes me look well rested, and helps give that “finished look” to my eye makeup.

@Waves2: I am not sure how bottom eye liner makes someone look cheap?
I think most makeup artists would know how to apply it to sttill keep your eye looking natural, but still defined. But you should definately do what ever you are most comfortable with.

What I find weird is it seems like in the town where my fiance grew up, it’s common for women to line their lower lashes all the way across, without lining the top at all! It looks so bizarre and unflattering to me. I just don’t understand it.
I never wear eyeliner. For the longest time, I just couldn’t make it work when I tried to apply it. I finally practiced a bit, and was able to do well enough to use it for my engagement photos, but I only put it on my upper eyelid. I don’t even like putting mascara on my lower lashes because I don’t think it looks right on me. So yeah, if you don’t like the way it looks – don’t do it! ๐

I think you should try it in a makeup trial and you may be surprised. Using different colors like a pearl, tan, or even brown can help your eyes look so much different and better by applying liner on the bottom tear duct.
I used to hate it and now my makeup doesn’t look finished without it!!

I don’t like it because I still end up with racoon eyes by the end of the night. ๐

I’m the opposite of what they say in the beauty articles (about lower liner “closing in” your eyes). Smudgy lower liner makes my eyes look HUGE, but if I don’t wear it my eyes look tiny and beady. I’ll definitely be wearing it on my wedding day. I’m just planning on touching up all my makeup before the reception, since that’s when the most candid pics will be taken.
