Ok so I need some help ladies! I’ve purchased a pair of shoes that I LOVE – the are super comfy and a perfect height too. Unfortunately, I’ve got a few issues.
Main issue is, I bought the shoes before the dress and my dress is ivory alencon lace and the shoes are white. It’s not a huge color difference, but enough that I notice so I’m considering options on what to do. The second issue is I think they’re slightly on the plain side, but I only feel that way some of the time.
I bought the Stuart Weitzman Femina in White Satin

Here’s my dress

So I’m trying to decide between dying them to match the dress color (or as close as possible) or strassing them. And if I strass them, should I just strass the heel and the platform or the entire shoe? Would a strassed shoe even work with my lace dress? Ugh, all these questions running through my head! I’d really love your opinions and any experience you’ve had with either dying or strassing. Thanks so much!!

I voted to strass the heel and platform!

I’d get them dyed to match instead of strassing them. Your lace dress is very elegant, and I think rhinestoned shoes would detract from that.

I say don’t strass anything, and either dye them or try to forget about it- barely anyone will even see your shoes

I don’t think rhinestoned shoes would go with your dress. I have no idea how you would go about dyeing shoes so I would leave them as is.

I think your dress is classic and elegant and strassing would compete with it. If I were to dye I would either go very light blush, lavender, or tiffany blue, or go bold with red. But I think they are beautiful the way they are as well.

I don’t get the strassing trend. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I say leave them as is. I tend to like plain shoes and am not crazy about the whole strassing thing. And as PP have said, you don’t want you shoes to compete with your gorgeous dress!!

I say no strass. I had this same dilemma. I purchased expensive strassed shoes thinking I would get a simple dress and the shoes would be the center of attention. Then I found THE dress and the shoes went back! I still need to find a shoe dressy enough for my dress but I don’t want my shoes to outshine my gorgeous dress! Your dress is gorgeous so why have them compete against something so eye-catching?
