I would say it’s a little too early. I didn’t get my bfp until 12dpo and got a bfn 2 days before that.

I’m sure the other ladies will jump in shortly (and probably with more knowledgable answers), but since I’m around and for what it’s worth:

My understanding is that pregnancy tests detect a certain hormone that starts getting produced after implantation. Implantation generally happens 7-10 after ovulation. So 6DPO is definitely too early – in some cases 10 DPO may be too early!

The best bet is to wait until you’re late, to minimize the possibility of false negatives (which are SO disappointing).  That said, as you can see if you run around the boards a bit, there are several of us that have a hard time waiting as well!! Hold out as long as you can – I would wait until at least two days before your period is due though.

Wait as long as you can – after AF is due or the same day if she doesn’t appear when she normally does. Otherwise definitely AFTER 12DPO…. the longer you wait the better!

Hang in there!

12 DPO seems to be the point where the majority of people get their BFPs (says FF), but I’ve seen cases where its been as early as 10DPO (rare) and as late as 16, 17, 18DPO. I’d wait as long as you can, until AF is due to arrive, to save yourself the heartache of seeing a BFN.

I got a VERY faint BFP on 11DPO… so faint that I threw out the stick thinking that it was negative! I got my definite BFP on 12DPO – but I started testing at 9 DPO because I was a POAS addict! I also had the wondfos, so they were cheap anyway. I confirmed with a digital once I saw the second line.

I got some extremely, extremely faint (and FRUSTRATING) faint positives on 10 DPO. It was really stressful and took a lot of the fun out of it. I finally got a definite BFP on 12 DPO, and wished I would have just waited so I could enjoy the moment.

I got an almost impossible to see faint line on 8 DPO, and a positive on 9 DPO. I would wait a couple of days. It would be a waist of a test to do it on 6 DPO because you know even a negative might not be correct, just too early.

I got a BFN on 10DPO and my very faint positive on 11DPO wait a few days. Test at 9DPO at the earliest.

I got a positive on the night of 8DPO and a pretty strong positive/digital positive on the evening of 9DPO. That being said, I STRONGLY encourage you to wait until 10DPO because my experience was definitely the exception to the rule! I honestly think that the soonest day that you have a chance at a good, accurate result is 12DPO. Good luck!

I always try to wait until at least 10DPO. Good luck!

I waited as long as I possibly could! 6DPO is definitely too early. I agree with most of the ladies here to try to wait until at least 12DPO.

I got my BFP 16DPO, with BFN’s before then.
