@imnotorange:  we ended up just going with paper bags, but when I was planning, I found this site.  Granted the bags look kinda small, but they’re about $1 each.

We ended up buying paper bags and getting ink stamps to decorate them.  Actual bags were very, very expensive.

@imnotorange: Walmart carries a 3 pack Canvas Tote Bag in the craft department for like $7.  I bought a bunch for a bachelorette party and for wedding day survival kits.  They are good quality, heavy duty bags and come out to be around $2.50 each.

It may be harder since you need 50, but if you have several Walmarts in your area, or maybe your local store could do a specail order for you?  Pretty sure Michael’s and Joanne’s carries the 3 pack as well, just not sure about the price there.

Yes it’s hard to find canvas bags under 4-5 bucks. And to need 50 of them, oh dear. I realized my oot bags were going to be quite expensive and I only needed 10 or so. I got some cute ones at a craft store on a half off sale and bought more than I needed just in case. They were still about $4 each. I think paper might be ur best bet.

We are doing these. I was going to do canvas bags but I thought they were to spendy. I got the bags at a craftstore that came in a pack of three. I dont remember how much I paid exactly for them but it was less than $1 a bag. Then I oordered custom welcome cards from vista print to glue on the fronts. Total will be probably $1.50 a bag or less.

@imnotorange:  Not sure if this is possible for you, but we bought reusable bags (not canvas though) in our destination city/state that ended up being $1.50/bag.
