When I first started my wedding planning, before there was any certain dress in mind, I was certain that I would not be a veil bride. Veils always seemed so stuffy and bridal and I’d always envisioned myself as more of a hair bride.
However, now that the dress is picked (and what a dreamy dress it is), I’m starting to lean toward wearing a veil for the ceremony. With the back being so open, I just don’t want to “skank” it up at such a formal event.
What are your thoughts? Veil or no veil? Keep in mind that it is in August at Cedarwood in Nasvhille.
This is also totally not me, but I’d die to have a body like that!

I love the idea of a veil with this dress. Something romantic and dreamy…in regards to length, I’m leaning towards something longish, cathedral length perhaps? Beautiful dress!

I also thought “veil — no way” and you know what ended up looking best on me? Veil!
I think a veil would be very pretty with that dress.

I do think the dress is gorgeous, but personally, I would be uncomfortable with an exposed back that is that revealing. If you are sure you will not feel uncomfortable all day, then I don’t think you need a veil. Perhaps you could wear the veil for the ceremony and take it off for the reception?

Thanks so much for the input! I’m definitely leaning toward getting a veil, but I’m unsure about the length/style. I think I’m too short/curvy for a cathedral length one, but it’s also something I haven’t tried on.
Another thing is what style veil? I thought about an alencon lace trimmed one, but I’m scared it’ll be lace overload. Not to mention the cost of it. Maybe just a plain one so that it doesn’t compete with the dress?

Also, I would only wear the veil for the ceremony. I have no qualms about my back and it’s a pretty small ceremony with aboout 60 of our closest friends and family members.

I think a veil would look great with this! I’m not too sure about a lacey one, maybe just the regular kind with some pearls/beading on it, or maybe lace around the edges instead of the whole thing being lace. I’m taking mine off at the reception too.

I think a fingertip veil would look stunning. I’m really loving your dress. I’ve had just a thing for lace dresses lately.

I think a fingertip veil would look really nice with the back of the dress.

I also thing a fingertip veil would look great with this dress. If you want lace edges, you could do thin lace edges, if you’re afraid that it may be too much lace.

I LOVE this dress! It’s beautiful! I think you would look absolutely LOVELY in a mantilla veil. If you don’t know what it is, google it! :]

How about trying a birdcage viel? I think it could work with this dress and would be small enough that might make you happier

A fingertip veil would be stunning with that gown.
